Visit to the Pavilion

Room 27&26 year 3 students were invited to the Pavilion today.

Mr Moran, Miss Davies and their lovely students introduced us to 

Chrome books this afternoon. The year 3s were very engaged and can't wait 

to get there chrome books next year.

Parents and caregivers of Year 3 students if you have not signed up yet

How Long Is Your Snake?

Measurement 

We made our own play dough in our learning Inquiry, where we saw

ch, ch, ch, ch, changes when water was added to the dry ingredients.  

The dry ingredients combined to make a solid ball of dough.

We then used our home dough for measurement in maths.

We rolled out different size snakes and then we used a ruler to measure them.

Writing about Stella

Stella

  After showing Room 26 photos of my dog Stella in a cast (cruciate rupture to the knee joint) the kids have been wanting me to bring her into school so they could see for themselves that she was ok. 

Stella spent the morning with the kids they took lots of photos and posted on their blogs.

Hiwi the kiwi

Mr and Mrs Minstrel have been touring the country visiting school. Their show delivers messages to help children enjoy, appreciate, respect, and conserve New Zealand's marine environment.

Room 26 would like to say thank you to Lynn and Harold. We have all

been filling our buckets with kindness, sharing, helping, support. 

Kiwi's Reading Group

Kiwi's 

This week the Kiwi's read a book about dogs. They learned how to 

care for them, what dogs eat, and that dogs need love and kindness

just like people. This week the students got to create. The group made

miniture dog kennels.

Well done Kiwi's they look amazing keep up the good work.

Bubble Gum Dance Group

The Bubble Gum Dance Group came to school and gave us an amazing 

performance. They will be off to compete in the Worlds in the USA.

All the best girls and thank you for coming and showing us an absolutely 

talented dance group.

Our Amazing Art

Autumn Art

This is our amazing art. We had a square each where we had to 

paint what we thought autumn was. We used autumn colours such as brown, red, orange, 

pink and purple. We borrowed a hay bale from the farmer next door to school as 

part of our display and we had real autumn leaves. Miss Tumahai bought a 

basket of pumpkins and she glued our felt leaves on to our picture frame.

These holidays I have been working on a number of school related projects. Our class sites page has had a revamp and in doing so I have learned a lot. How to size and resize, making sure positioning is where I want it and my icons link to the right places, image or piece work that I want the students to see and do. I have also been looking at making links to articles and clips that relate to the students reading and found some really cool links to maths activities.

What an amazing night. My first Fia Fia, if someone was to ask me which cultural dance I liked, I couldn't tell you, I enjoyed them all. The whole night took my breath away.

From weeks of practices and the same song going over and over in my mind, I think I lost a kg or 2 practicing the routines with the very awesome and glowing Jump Jam team. 

Thanks to my wonderful colleagues Miss Szymanik, Mrs Stickland  and to the students, 

you made us so very proud.

Derby Day

Trolley Derby Day saw Pt England School winning their first race against Orakei School.
Noah, the Pitt crew and Mr Jacobson did such a great job keeping the cart in good condition. Well done team.

Gymnastic

Room 26 would like to thank Flaminio for a wonderful gymnastic experience. We have been using locomotive skill in our class to help us to follow instruction more carefully. 

At our last gym lesson Flaminio gave us a certificate of participation.
