Smart Relationships

In our Cyber Smart lesson with Mrs Collins we had a challenge.
We had to work together and try to make the tallest tower. We needed to work
and listen to each other. Come up with ideas together and make sure we all had
opportunities to share our ideas. Thank you Mrs Collins this was fun.

Digital Tecnology

Today we met Whaea Bex from Digital Technology. Whea Bex will be helping us to better understand digital technology. We got into groups of 3 and Whaea Bex told us to put the hand that we write with behind our backs and the 1 hand to make a paper plane. This required us all to communicate, work together as a team. We were very successful.

3D Puzzles with Mrs Fraier.

On Friday mornings we have a very lovely lady called Mrs Frier, who will be coming in to help us put together 3D puzzles. This week we did Christ the Redeemer statue. Christ the Redeemer is a statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil that was built as a symbol of Brazilian Christianity. In 1850, the idea of building a religious monument was first suggested by a Catholic Priest. It wasn't until 1920 when a group petitioned for support to build a landmark statue that it became a reality. I wonder what we will do next Friday.

Cyber Smart

Room 11 will be learning how to be Cyber Smart with Whaea Heather on Friday mornings. In our first session we watched a video called Pause and Think. We discussed what is a Smart Relationship and who we can have Smart Relationships with.

DMic Lesson with Room 11

We have been measuring and decision making, questioning, and experimenting. We have measuring the length of the pools at the Glen Innes Aquatics Centre, how many metres we can swim, the longest a student kick the ball and the shortest distance. We measured the distance between Ms Tumahai's and the socket to find out how long the charger cord has to be. We had so much fun making and measuring our team stack of sandwiches and then adding up all the stacks to find out long it was.
Unfortunately we all ate our sandwiches before we got to measure the whole class.
But lucky for us we recorded our groups stacks then added them all to get the total. Watch our video clip to see how much our classroom stack measured.
