Collecting Data
In Maths we talked about graphs and why we have them and how important graphs can be. We talked about our pets and who had pets at home. Ms Tumahai drew pictures on the board, she drew a dog , a cat , a bird , rabbit and guinea pig from what the students said of the pets they had at home. Ms Tumahai asked who had a dog at home, and 6 students put their hands up. Ms drew 6 lines like this and then she asked the same questions with the other pets we have at home.

Gardening
We have started our project today to build box gardens around the Team 2 space. Mr Vogt and his very kind friends helped , encouraged and taught us how to use the tools we needed to make our gardens. The students had lots of fun. Our maths came in handy as well because we had to measure the wood which is exactly what we are doing in class.

Auckland Rugby
We got to spend some time with a group of people from Auckland Rugby. We had fun learning and playing games with them. They taught us some ball skills used in Rugby games.

Willow
On the last day of term I brought Willow to school. She is 6 months old and very cute. My students have been hanging out to meet her. The students learned how to make her sit and lay down. Some students were successful in doing this , Maddie was very good and was able to give Willow a treat. The students got to walk her a short distance and brush her coat.

MOTAT
Team 2 went to MOTAT this term as part of our inquiry into simple machines.
We piled into 2 buses with teachers and our lovely support staff and parents. We got to MOTAT and met with our guide Abbey who looked after us throughout the day.
We explored MOTAT looking at how simple machines have helped people in everyday life.
The education lesson with Abbey was fun because the students were able to carefully use some simple machines to help us make things. We put wheels on boards, we made lots of gears turn at once we also used tools to make a skateboard for the stuffed animals.
MOTAT was so much fun.
