Our Dioramas

  

After our zoo trip the students and I

discussed the different environments for 

animals. We talked about their surroundings

and what the animals needed. 

We made our own dioramas for our zoo animals.

Athletics Day

Well done everyone, Athletics Day was such a success and

I had a really great day with the year 1 boys in Room 21, 20, and 19.

Remember

Some things to remember for next week

On Wednesday 11th November we need your permission and $2, to take your

child/children to Sylvia Park for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. This will be so

exciting I can't wait to see our kids movies.

Athletics Day on 13th November. Every child in Room 20 have been put 

into their new houses. Please try to dress in the colours of your new house and 

support your team.

Room 20 at the Auckland Zoo

We all had such a fun day even in the rain. 

Room 20 and Miss Tumahai would like to thank all

our lovely parents, Nanas and our support staff.

Writing

Amazing Writing 

This week we have been writing about animals and how they survive.

Here are some of the students amazing writing.

Mini Market Day

For Inquiry this term Team 1 have been learning about Trade and enterprise.

In Room 20 we had a mini market day and sold some of our arts and crafts using the 

money we have been saving throughout the term. We saved the money by doing jobs in

our classroom and working really hard to finish any tasks we were given, managing our behaviour, showing kindness, respecting others and learning the Pt England way.

The Letter Tt

Last week our letter was Tt. The students watched the steam train going

round the track and some students ate Tim tams and toffee pops.

Cross Counry

This afternoon the rain stopped, the sun came out and we 

where able to run our Cross Country. I know Room 20 where 

very excited. Well done Room 20 so proud of how well you all ran

today.

C for Cup Cakes

Last week our letter was Cc. Miss Tumahai made cup cakes and we 
decorated our own cup cake. Here we are with the letter C on our cup cakes.

Pirate Mahai

Last Friday a pirate came to visit us.

The Days of the Week

We have been learning the days of the week through music.

We are now able to identify the days of the week by the 

different activities that happen each day.

On Monday - Te reo with Whaea Saf

On Thursday- Ms George (Ipad skills)

Room 20 is Growing

Our Whacky Hair and Wheels Day.

Wacky hair and wheels day.

Friday was wacky hair and wheels day.

The day started with our whole school assembly where our

very cool principal skate boarded into the hall with his wacky hair do.

Tea Ropati was our special guest, Mr Ropati helped give out certificates

and judge the wackiest hair do. Our new students were introduced to the school this morning. We all got to slide down a bouncy slide it was so much fun.

We spent our lunchtime on our bikes, scooters, rollerblade and skateboards following Mr Russell on his skateboard and Mr Jacobson on his bike around our school. 

  The day ended with our team 1 assembly and jump jam.

Basketball

Room 20 has had so much fun learning basketball skills this term. 

Last week was our final basketball lesson and we would like to thank the coaches for their time and patients.

We are Room 20 welcome to our blog

I am Tony Marsters. I am 5 and I like Thomas the Tank Engine.

I am Aaron Bya. I am 5 and I like to play on my  i-pad

I am Miss Tumahai and I'm very happy to be at Pt England school.

On Wednesday we were invited to Room 16 for Maori. We made Kihu with whaea Saf.

Mufti Day Friday

Mufti day at Pt England School. Everyone in Room 19 and 20 donated a $1 coin or more for the people of Nepal. Mr Jacobson marked out one of the temples in Nepal now lying in ruin with tape on the hall floor so the whole school could start a coin trail.
